We know we have some fabulous photographers among you, so please tag any photos of the wedding that you post to facebook and instagram with #mooregutwedding so they're searchable! We won't be able to wait for our photographers' photos to be ready and will want to pore over all of your photos while on our honeymoon!
Maid of Honor: Rachael Dorman
Rachael and Allison have known each other for about 13 years since they pledged Sigma Kappa at the University of Michigan. They bonded over weekly trips to Red Hot Lovers, a hot dog joint in Ann Arbor, after their "Visions of the Past" history class...they often still speak of longings for those hot dogs and waffle fries. Luckily, they have been able to continue their culinary adventures in NYC, perhaps on a bit more sophisticated scale. In the five years that they shared an awesome apartment in the West Village, they saw each other through so many ups and downs, Allison cannot imagine anyone else she’d rather have by her side on her wedding day. Rachael still lives in the West Village and is responsible for many of the cool products we all love from Google.
Bridesmaid: Julia Hart Horowitz
Julia and Allison have been friends since Julia was assigned as Allison’s "big sister" at Spence to show her the ropes as an incoming freshman, and someone new to the school. And Spence could not have gotten that one better! Julia and Allison were practically inseparable in high school between dance company, chorus and plays (where we had to wear mustaches...a lot...no really, it was an all-girls school). Julia had a stunning wedding i in beautiful Ojai, CA -- it was Allison’s first experience as a bridesmaid and she is thrilled to now be giving Julia her first bridesmaid experience. Julia resides in LA with her husband Jordan, two amazing dogs and just turned her first screenplay into a major motion picture called “The Keeping Room” -- go see it when it’s out in theaters!
Bridesmaid: Lauren Perlgut
Lauren has know Andrew for his entire life. She met Allison through Andrew, and the two quickly became friends and sometimes partners-in-crime! Lauren, Andrew and Allison have spent countless weekends hanging out together on Fire Island where Lauren and Allison have been semi-successful in keeping Andrew from running amok at every opportunity. [But they obviously could not stop mehim from running amok in designing the website! - ED]. Lauren is a litigator at a large law firm and lives in Union Square.
Officiant: Lindsey Sherdell
Lindsey is responsible for introducing the happy couple. She has known Andrew since before they can remember at Horace Mann and has spent many a summer weekend out on Fire Island with the Perlguts. Lindsey and Allison met later at Spence where they toured Europe with the Select Choir (singing tribal songs and playing strange instruments) and staging a musical with third graders as their senior project. Lindsey is getting her degree in Clinical Psychology at Stanford; in her spare time she takes care of her fantastic Goldendoodle, Derby, and explores the nature of the Bay Area.
Best Man: Josh Raeben
Josh and Andrew have known each other since Josh followed Peter Levine and crashed Andrew's fifth birthday on Fire Island. They've been best friends ever since and both look forward to springs, summers, autumns, and winters spent hanging out on Fire Island, be it at Raebo's Rooftop Bar & Grille or huddled in front of the Raebens' fireplace during a frigid New Year's. Andrew was Josh's Best Man in his wedding in October '12 and is thrilled that Josh is returning the favor. Josh and his wife Sarah are currently splitting time between Fire Island and their condo in Steamboat Springs, Colorado - making us all exceedingly jealous.
Groomsman: Peter Clock
Pete and Andrew have been friends since their early teenage years when they met out at Fire Island. Pete was also Andrew's roommate for 5 (!) years in two different appartments on the Upper East Side. Since Pete and Andrew were able to live together for that long without killing each other, we decided to give Pete the nod to be one of the groomsmen. Pete is a math teacher in Brooklyn, where he also lives. He might have the shortest commute of any wedding attendee, as his apartment is just around the corner from the Botanic Garden.
Groomsman: Lonnie Klein
Lonnie and Andrew met in the advanced math class in 7th grade at Horace Mann. And then again in Dr. Schiller's "Foundations" class 2 periods later. Very close friends through High School, both Lonnie and Andrew ended up at Wesleyan together. Lonnie lives in Brooklyn with his wife Helen, daughter Meira, and son Amit and is also a litigator at a large New York City law firm.
Groomsman: Jameson Walthers
Jameson and Andrew met in Eclectic at Wesleyan. Jameson and Andrew share a love of electronic music and are concert-going buddies in the city. In fact, Jameson was witness (along with Maid of Honor Rachael) to Andrew and Allison's first date at one such concert. Jameson lives in Brooklyn and works for a fashion photographer.
